“The longer you remain silent, the deeper the distance, the greater the gulf grows, thus making it harder to heal.”
-Corie G.
We so openly talk about things that mean so little...
Have you found your voice in your relationships, job, church, hobbies, social media, and most importantly, within yourself?
Each of these areas are our "safe havens". Remember as kids, playing hide-and-go-seek? I am sure you do. If you look closely, each area represents a hiding place. A place where you can hide parts of you in plain sight - being emotionally dishonest.
The question then becomes, 'who or what are we really hiding'?
In other words, you have to talk about it to deal with it. I get that some people aren't trustworthy, they don't understand, they judge you, or they cannot relate, but it's about ridding yourself of the weight. Find an outlet - get it out of your heart and off of your mind. I recently began seeing a therapist...best decision of 2018. Can you tell? Ha!
When will you stop denying your unmet needs?
Pray. Purge. Pursue.
