She is a woman – a woman with dreams, goals, and aspirations – afraid of failure. More accurately, a black woman; juggling roles such as mother, wife, entrepreneur, and woman of God. Also, a career woman, quite often, the conflicting roles leaves her little time for self-care. This increases the risk of her being overwhelmed, overlooked, and overextended. Though she handles the juggling part like a superhero, she is merely a woman. What usually spoils her show is striving to correct the misconceptions of loved ones and onlookers. Being misunderstood and misused is painful, a hard burden to bear. Sidenote: Because Sis is able and willing, doesn’t mean she is meant to, but carry on. This tends to lead to anxiety, regret and doubt, leaving the star of the show questioning her purpose in this whole juggling act. The act called life.
When sleep becomes your escape from the demons that have left you exhausted during the day…
When you are not alone yet you feel lonely…
When no one is available to assist in your moment of weakness…
When you begin selling yourself short…
When you detach, disconnect, and deep dive into isolation…
In those acts (or moments), you realize why superheroes have secret identities. Her ability to be strong is her “kryptonite”; it means her well-being may never come into question. To avoid pain and shame, she further confines herself to a daily routine of waking up, imitating her former superhero self, then going back to sleep. Still yet, being misjudged by the very people who were not there to aid when she said could no longer carry the load. *enters the dilemma* She contemplates: give up or go on? How much more of this can she take? Hold up - something ain’t right – I am not a weak jawn!
This is the star's "aha moment"; the part where you realize that self-awareness is your superpower!!!
To regain control of this juggling act, she must check herself:
*Shug, find the balance! That means taking care of everything and not caring about anything.
*Boo, stop overthinking! It’s a vibe killer; employ your faith. God’s will & chill.
*Girl, speak up! Stop thinking silence expresses pain. If your silence goes unnoticed, put a pen to pad, clear your head and your heart. Pray and get help.
*Honey, forgive yourself! Healing and growth require errors. Change is messy.
*Keep applying pressure, Sis! Keep evolving; you owe it to yourself. Honor that!
Women are complex creatures; uneasy to solve. Whether mind or mouth, a woman’s dilemma is deciding to speak her truth or her trauma. You're the boss, Woman, choose your limits. No power exceeds that of a woman ready to rise.
“The woman was made of a rib out of the side of Adam; not made out of his head to rule over him, nor out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be beloved.” ― Matthew Henry

@Tina & @nuwaj3 AGREED! 💜
We try to be everything to everyone except who and what we need to be to ourselves.
Balance is the key, ladies! It's so easy to say it, but so hard to follow it!
@Mali I believe that's the key to finding the balance...NOT isolating ourselves when we are hurting AND not expressing our pain through silence. I have a habit of not expecting me from ppl but then I find myself not even giving them the chance and hurting even more...
Find the balance!!! Thats my struggle. Trying to find the balance. As caregivers i seem to give more of myself than what's needed to ensure our loved ones are good completely, but it leaves me depleted. Then I'm standoffs, quiet, and hurting, with no one to help me with my burdens. It's exhausting. Learning to give without overdrafting is my goal. You did that sis! 🙏🏽👏🏾🙌🏾👏🏾🙌🏾
