Oh you don’t fit in??
Ever felt like you’ve always stuck out for some reason?
Ever felt like there was just never a place for you in any group.
You could even be apart of them but somehow you still didn’t quite feel like you fit.
So... funny thing when you’re anointed by the most High God... you ready for this
YOU WERE NEVER MEANT TO FIT IN!!!
We live in a society where everyone wants to look like the next girl, have the same body type, hair, style, be the next big thing - etc and there is no longer any individuality!
There are no longer any originals - every one is a clone of what they’ve seen on social media or what they hoped would get them the most attention on social media?!
But what have you done for your Creator's attention???
You know - the one who said you were fearfully and wonderfully made?!!
So, when’s the last time you told Him about your day?
When’s the last time you called on Him when you didn’t desperately need help but just wanted to say thank you for this life you live that He graciously gives us every single day.
Ever find it crazy how we tell Him all the things we want and need but won’t do our part?
His word says delight yourself in the lord and He will give you the desires of your heart Psalm 37:4. So delight in him 🤷🏽♀️🙏🏽, seek His word and all things will be added to you.
If it’s not being added perhaps there’s some effort on your end that needs to be made. (Yep, I said it!)
Back to my point ... 😆
I alwayyyyys struggled with being “different”.
It was interesting because the very things that made me stand out helped get me great jobs, allowed me to meet amazing people, & brought on huge opportunities, BUT I always found myself not always liked by people around me in those jobs, It also caused me to leave jobs and made me miss out on opportunities because I stayed fearful of judgement and hated the constant reminder of not being accepted. But God did not give us a spirit of fear - but of peace, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). When I left that fear alone and asked for peace and understanding I saw differences in myself and my confidence started to show! I no longer need acceptance nor approval from anyone but my God!
I learned that sometimes the enemy will do every thing to dim your light, like trying to steal your joy and your peace. Your peace has everything to do with your thoughts and whether or not you speak life or death over yourself - those thoughts can get the best of us sometimes. Speak life of yourself!! I am more than a conqueror. I am an overcomer. I am going to get through this because Your word says this too shall pass!
My three pieces of advice for you when you’re in the thick of things are:
- Stop dimming your light for others. There’s nothing wrong with you being different!! & never ever allow someone else to make you feel like there is something wrong with you!!! Don’t expect people to understand your anointing just know that it intimidates the weak!!
- Stop comparing your weaknesses to other people’s strengths! Instead figure out what your strengths and weaknesses are; then apply them when needed and learn from them when necessary.
- OWN the fact that you don’t fit in - and walk with your head held high! You were never ever meant to fit in - stop trying to! The sooner you figure that out, the better.
And with all this being said...
Keep in mind what the beautiful Sara Jakes Roberts said “we can be different without being difficult!” You do not have to be mean just because you stand out. You don’t have to be nasty to get your point across! Learn how to own your power of being a “misfit” without making others feel like their uniqueness isn’t just as special!
There’s room for all of us to shine!
